Mount Pleasant

Mount Pleasant is an eclectic and vibrant neighborhood, known for its heritage buildings, unusual stores, bustling breweries, art-focused festivals, and artistic residents. Featuring vibrant nightlife, amazing restaurants, large parks, and murals on Main Street, this area is popular with urban professionals, first-time homebuyers as well as families.   

Situated southeast of downtown Vancouver, this historic yet rapidly growing community is a beautiful amalgamation of historic Vancouver with modern trends and really has something for everyone. It’s overflowing with thrift and vintage shops that often sell trendy labels at a hefty discount. In addition to chain restaurants in Cambie Village and indie fashion shops and gastro pubs on Main Street, you’ll also find specialist outdoor stores selling ski gear, bikes, and kayaks in this area.  

There are many parks in this neighborhood that are quite popular among locals. For instance, Jonathan Rogers Park is an excellent venue to watch the sun set behind the mountains and skyline. You can also enjoy different types of delicious snacks from the various food trucks and cafés around the park. Mount Pleasant Park is an excellent neighborhood hangout with picnic tables, a playground, a skate park, and a community garden.

This neighborhood is also a haven for food lovers. With lots of bakeries, restaurants, bistros, breweries, and cafés, it can cater to various palettes with ease. Whether you’re craving freshly baked bagels or looking for authentic Japanese rolls, this neighborhood has it all. It’s also perfect for fitness fanatics due to its various yoga studios, parks, and cycling routes. Many streets of Mount Pleasant double as bike lanes which makes it easier to get around town.    

There are several art galleries in this neighborhood as well. These galleries predominantly showcase local talent and provide a place to highlight new and emerging talent. Mount Pleasant is not only extremely walkable but also offers endless transit options. Bus, SeaBus, SkyTrain, and the West Coast Express all make it easier to move around this neighborhood.
