Kitsilano

One of Vancouver’s most coveted neighborhoods, Kitsilano is an ideal example of a beachside community with its amazing views, stunning beaches, and relaxed atmosphere. Being home to some of the most popular beaches in North America, this neighborhood features some of the top places to shop, eat, drink, play, and stay in Vancouver.

For people who love being active and outdoors, this neighborhood is a true paradise. From biking along the seawall to basketball to beach volleyball, there’s no shortage of activities in this stunning beachside community. You can hit the weights or enjoy skateboarding at the Kitsilano Community Center.

Other notable attractions in this neighborhood include the H.R. MacMillan Space Center, the Vancouver Maritime Museum, and the Museum of Vancouver. The Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival is also held every year from June to September by this community. In addition to the centrally located seaside parks like Connaught Park and Vanier Park, there are several other parks and pathways in this neighborhood. You can also bike down the Arbutus Greenway and enjoy a picturesque ride around the city.

You can also find endless dining and shopping options on West 4th and West Broadway. Whether you’re looking for boutique fine dining or organic grocery stores, Kitsilano is more than capable of meeting all your preferences. On West 4th, you’ll find a large range of stores including mid-range fashion boutiques, athletic clothes and supplies, baby and maternity fashion, and home decor.

There are also a number of restaurants on West 4th that offer cuisines from different parts of the world and can easily cater to those looking for something savory as well as those craving something sweet. So whether you’re craving Asian cuisine or some African delights, you’re sure to find something to satisfy your palette. Just a short walk south is West Broadway where you’ll find spas, stylish fashion stores, unique gift and decor stores, groceries, and a wide selection of multicultural eats.

The vibe in this Vancouver neighborhood is typically active, healthy, upscale, and community-oriented. It's also home to Lululemon’s first store, which may be responsible for people’s excessive interest in yoga irrespective of their age.
