Riley Park-Little Mountain

Another quaint little neighborhood of Vancouver is Riley Park, which is famous for its two main attractions: the Vancouver Olympic Center and the famous Nat Bailey stadium (home to the Vancouver Canadians baseball team). It features two thriving commercial hubs, one along Main Street and one along Cambie Street, that offer a wide selection of unique boutiques, restaurants, and grocers. Shops along Main Street are popular among residents for antique furniture and locally-designed clothes.

The neighborhood is also home to Bloedel Conservatory, a lush, glass-domed aviary that houses more than 500 species of unique plants and more than 200 species of exotic birds. Set high above Queen Elizabeth Park, this charming spot is well worth a visit—the stunning beauty of this place with its fragrant scents and vibrant colors is sure to please your senses. If you get tired from walking, there are a few comfortable seats around where you can take a break from walking and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere to your heart’s content.

You’ll also find the Mountain View Cemetery here, which features well-maintained and serene grounds. The beautifully manicured lawns and tranquil atmosphere create a peaceful environment that invites reflection and contemplation. Whether you’re visiting a loved one or looking for a quiet place for retrospection, this cemetery offers a calming and comforting experience.

Another prominent point of interest here is the Hillcrest Aquatic Center, a huge community center that boasts excellent facilities. Built around the time of the Vancouver Olympics, it offers many recreational activities including a swimming pool, hot tub, hockey rink, fitness center, and a community room for meetings. The concession stand offers a wide range of snacks at reasonable prices that are suitable for all ages. Facilities outside include a soccer pitch, baseball diamond, and a playground. The facilities at this center are clean and well-maintained, making it a great place to hang out with family and friends.
